Gurmeet Ram Rahim: Gurmeet Singh, who is serving a sentence in Sunaria jail in the case of Sadhvi rape, journalist and former Dera manager murder case, came out of jail for the eighth time on Tuesday. After 21 days furlough was granted, he left from Sunaria jail for Baranwala Ashram in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. During this time, security personnel were also present with him. Apart from this, police force was present at every nook and corner.

Came out of jail amid tight police security

Mouthful daughter Honeypreet Isan and her advocate reached outside the district jail in two vehicles. Amidst tight police security, Gurmeet Singh's convoy of three vehicles left the premises at high speed. To ensure that no incident takes place, police personnel were deployed from the jail premises to the highway.

Meeting with prisoners in jail canceled

Media personnel were also not allowed to go around the jail premises. Media personnel were stopped at the checkpoint near IIM Rohtak. The prisoners and their relatives were not even allowed to meet in the jail.

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Singh has been lodged in Sunaria jail since August 2017 in the Sadhvi sexual harassment case. After this, Gurmeet Singh was sentenced to life imprisonment in two separate murder cases.

The special CBI court of Panchkula had declared him guilty on 25 August 2017. On the same day, he was sent to Sunaria Jail in Rohtak by helicopter.

Twenty years' imprisonment in Sadhvi rape case

Two days later, the court in Sunaria jail itself sentenced him to twenty years of imprisonment in the Sadhvi rape case. Since that day, Sunaria is serving his sentence in jail. For the first time on October 24, Gurmeet Singh was taken out on 24-hour secret parole.

After this, on June 21, he was given 48 hours of custody to meet his mother. Parole for 21 days was given on February 7, 2021. Gurmeet Singh was taken out of jail for the ninth time on Tuesday.
